Happy Friday Storied!
Sorry this issue was out a little later than usual today. We’re still shuffling around childcare stuff so sometimes we just don’t quite make the Thursday night deadline! But thanks for hanging in there and hopefully you enjoy this week’s issue.
As always, feel free to hit reply if you want. Or if you enjoy an issue, you’re welcome to the occasional sneaky share with a friend. ;) Thanks for being here and make sure you don’t miss our next monthly Zoom call date at the end of the issue.
Cheers!

When I’m Feeling Down About the Sacredness of My One, Small Faith
By Gabby Llewellyn
Confession: sometimes I get overwhelmed by it all.
I get overwhelmed by the intense emotions, the personal stories, shouting matches that happen online, the sheer amount of work that needs to be done righting wrongs in the church. There are times (usually when I’ve spent too much time online) when the “deconstruction” rabbit hole makes me feel sad, overwhelmed and wondering if any of it is worth it.
It’s a tricky tension to live in: to have your eyes opened to big systemic issues within church culture, to systems of oppression and even abuse, to feel betrayed by leaders you trusted and listened to, AND to still cherish your faith and want to grow spiritually as a Christian.
