Hey Storied friends!
It’s Friday so pull up a chair, pour yourself some coffee and let’s connect. A few things to note at the top: we’ve got a new book club read this month so make sure you don’t miss that because we think you’ll like this one!
And going forward we are going to be tightening security on our community Facebook group which is for paid subscribers only. We will verify your subscription before accepting your membership request so check your Messenger inbox for a message from us if you’re still waiting for that to come through.
We’re not trying to be exclusive, but we DO want this community to be a safe place where we can genuinely connect over challenging topics which is why it’s a private group and why we’re tightening up security as well. Feel free to hit respond to this email if you have questions!
Other than that we hope you enjoy this week’s devotional.
Love and peace to you all!

The “Consequences” of Not Being Blind
By Gabby Llewellyn
Jesus then said, “I came into the world to bring everything into the clear light of day, making all the distinctions clear, so that those who have never seen will see, and those who have made a great pretense of seeing will be exposed as blind.”
Some Pharisees overheard him and said, “Does that mean you’re calling us blind?”
Jesus said, “If you were really blind, you would be blameless, but since you claim to see everything so well, you’re accountable for every fault and failure.” - John 9:39-41 (MSG)
The verses above are a conversation Jesus has with the Pharisees after he heals a blind man on the Sabbath. I actually recommend reading the whole chapter in the Message version because it’s so good.
But what struck me (as often does in stories where Jesus encounters the Pharisees) are the results when Jesus transcends the law in order to obey the heart of the Father.
