Hey Storied family!
Welcome to another issue of Storied. We’re on week four of our series on Spiritual Formation post deconstruction and we’re really excited about this week’s topic. We’re exploring what it looks like to cultivate spiritual practices that allow us to authentically connect with God in a way that makes sense to us individually and how we’ve been made. Can’t wait to hear all your input in the comments.
Happy Friday!

Cultivating Sustainable Spiritual Rhythms for Your Real Life
By Gabby Llewellyn
Last year, Chris became a certified nutritionist as a part of his never-ending interest in health and fitness (part of his Ennegram 5 wing, no doubt, requiring him to be an expert before engaging in anything, but that’s a different conversation!)
As a result I became the main audience for a steady stream of factoids like “Did you know that just moving 20 minutes every day can increase your heart health by 20 percent?” Or “Did you know just one alcoholic beverage a day can decrease your lifespan?” I’d listen while sheepishly sipping my gin and tonic after a day of mostly sitting at my computer working.
But I also really grew in my appreciation for what it looks like to live a healthy life and how different it looks for everyone. Sure there are a few main pillars— diet, movement and rest. But what makes up those pillars can really be so different because we are all so different.
For example, the chasm between what a healthy lifestyle looks like for Chris versus what it looks like for me is canyon-like. He requires so much more food, more rigorous work outs, and different amounts of sleep than me to function optimally. My body really thrives more on long, gentle sustained movement more than it enjoys high intensity work outs. I need really very little food to function in comparison to Chris. And I could sleep competitively.
